On April 14, 2010, an event called Focus Group Discussion(FGD) for Indonesian Disaster Data and Information (DIBI) West Sumatra that took place in Prince Beach Hotel, Padang was successfully held. The event discusses various themes on disaster data management and also DIBI adjustment to be applied in the West Sumatra province. The event was attended by more than 20 participants from various provincial and district agencies, including the Kesbangpolinmas, District Regional Disaster Management Body (BPBD), Statistic, Police, Public Health Service, and so forth. The event was opened by the Rumainur, Division Head of Programme Kesbanglinmas West Sumatra, representing the Head of Kesbanglinmas West Sumatra who were unable to come due to the inauguration of West Sumatra province BPBD members.







A series of earthquakes have occurred on April 7, 2010 at around Aceh and North Sumatra. empa terjadi di 75 Km sebelah Tenggara Sinabang atau berada di 2.33 LU – 97.02 BT dengan kedalaman 34 Km.">Starting an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter Scale (SR) rocked the South Aceh District, Aceh Province, at 05:15 pm, occurred at the epicenter 75 km southeast side at 2:33 Sinabang or N - 97.02 E with a depth of 34 km. Then followed a few times a magnitude 5.1 aftershock occurred at SR 05:26 GMT with the epicenter at 60 km southeast Sinabang or are coordinates LU 2:33 - 96.87 BT with a depth of 24 km. And following aftershocks with magnitude of 5.0 Richter quakes epicenter at 47 km North-East or in Sinabang 2:54 LU - 96.78 BT and berkedalaman 10 km, at 05:28 pm. Aftershocks are still continuing with the strength of SR 5.0 with the epicenter 77 km northwest of New Singkil, Aceh province, at 05:54 pm. These shocks are at 2:33 LU - 97.09 BT with a depth of 28 km. Richter 5.1 earthquake with the strength back felt with the epicenter at 71 km southeast Sinabang. Finally, the quake was located at 1.88 N - 96.60 E with a depth of 28 km. In addition to the Aceh region, the vibration magnitude 5.2 SR with epicenter located at 32 km Northeast of Mount Sitoli, North Sumatra Province, occurred at 05:34 pm.
